Actually, Saturday is the Christian Sabbath, the Seventh Day of the week, in accordance to the Ten Commandments...it doesn't state he set aside and sanctified "a" Sabbath day, but rather "the" Sabbath day...Look at any calendar at your house or work place and Sunday is shown as the fist day of the week, not the seventh day...And within the book of Revelations, when Christ returns, He will find His children to be keeping ALL of His Commandments...No where in the Bible did God, or Jesus, change this or any other commandment...Jesus observed the seventh day Sabbath and after He died, the apostles contained to worship on the Sabbath as well..."It's not what I say, but what God says and commands throughout His Word"...Most ministers, preachers, pastors, priests, etc... will admit that Saturday is the Sabbath written by God within the 4th Commandment...I'm currently reading His entire Word for the fourth year in a row and it is extremely clear that man changed His holy Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, not God...sad, but true...just sayin' in Love and Truth... Thanks for the comments Maureen. Saw you on Friday but didn't get a chance to say hi. Glad you are still involved in 40 days. I know that God is using you to build His kingdom. Blessings. I understand the Saturday Sabbath very well. I agree, somewhere about two thousand years ago Christians started worshiping on Sundays. The Apostle Paul mentioned Sunday worship in 1 Corintheans but he never seemed bothered by the change. In fact he says in Colosians 2:16 "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." So unless some huge paradigm shift happens, Sunday will be the defacto day of worship for awhile. JM

As always, it was a great night of worship Joe...Actually, during this year's prayer & fasting, I've spent a great deal of time studying the Sabbath and have decided to attempt to create the habit of setting aside, from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday, time to worship our Heavenly Father, reading and studying His Word, and resting...No, I haven't become a Messianic Jew...When God rested on the 7th day Sabbath, and sanctified it, there weren't any Jewish people...Adam and Eve weren't Jewish...LOL...I know you are continuously busy doing God's work, not just during the 40 days of prayer & fasting; therefore, I will continue to pray for you, your wife, and your family throughout the year...Maureen {hugs} :)
